The Architect of Ashes started as an original acrylic painting on reclaimed material by Central Michigan artist Zach Maatman. A beetle rises from a pale, weathered ground, its body built from carved acanthus scrolls in slate blue and silver, as if it were made rather than born. The title casts it as a builder working in what fire leaves behind, the kind of small, patient creature that turns endings into new ground. The full painting is printed on the front of this tee. The original has already found a home. This is how you wear it.
