The Dragonfly

The Dragonfly started as an original acrylic painting on reclaimed material by Central Michigan artist Zach Maatman. A dragonfly spreads wings of sage-green acanthus across a large reclaimed panel, its long body running down through a pink arch into a field of dotted medallions. Among the oldest flying insects on Earth and a summer fixture over Michigan’s ponds and marshes, it’s treated here as something close to sacred. The original has already found a home.
